Also known as the satin or silver pothos, Scindapsus pictus 'Exotica' is a vigorous vining plant whose light green foliage is speckled with silvery, reflective variegation. The heart-shaped leaves are velvety to the touch and quite matte in texture, which is perhaps why the plant is also known by the common names Philodendron Silver and Satin Pothos (though botanically it is neither Philodendron nor Pothos). This large-leafed cultivar of Scindapsus Pictus shows more intense variegation than the standard type, covering anywhere from 60-90% of the leaf. Eventually, its vines grow quite long, making Scinapsus Pictus a great choice for hanging planters.

Scindapsus are great air-purifying plants.

These plants are non-toxic and pet friendly.

Light: Scindapsus prefer bright, indirect light—placing it near an east or south-facing window is ideal. Direct sun or too much light will burn or fade the leaves.

Water: Water Scindapsus when the soil becomes dry to a depth of 1-2 inches - likely every 7 days. Don’t allow the pot to stand in water, as this will cause root rot.

Humidity: Humidity will encourage your Scindapsus to put out new growth. During the winter months, mist your plant at least twice a week.

Fertilization: Fertilize monthly during the spring and summer with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted to half the recommended strength.

Pet Toxicity: Scindapsus leaves are toxic to pets and humans. Typically, ingestion will result in swelling of the lips and tongue, and stomach irritation with possible vomiting.
