Philodendron Rojo Congo is a serious show-stopper with showy colors and incredible accents. The beauty gets its name “Rojo” for the deep red pigment of its new growth. As the leaves mature, they turn deep green but will always carry a rim of red around the edge. The stems on the Rojo Congo are also vibrant cherry.
They are also enormous floor specimens and quickly bring the jungle into your space.
Rojo Congo are great air purifying plants.
Plant Diameter: 14"
Light: Philodendron prefer bright, indirect light—placing it near an east or south facing window is ideal. Direct sun or too much light will burn or fade the leaves.
Water: Water philodendron when the soil becomes dry to a depth of 1-2 inches - likely every 7 days. Don’t allow the pot to stand in water, as this will cause root rot.
Humidity: Humidity will encourage your Philodendron to put out new growth. During the winter months, mist your plant at least twice a week.
Fertilization: Fertilize monthly during the spring and summer with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted to half the recommended strength.
Pet Toxicity: Philodendron leaves are toxic to pets and humans. Typically, ingestion will result in swelling of the lips and tongue, and stomach irritation with possible vomiting.
