Also called Grey Dragon, Alocasia ‘Maharani’ is a rare indoor plant for a bright, indirect light location in your home. The distinctive leaves, in attractive shades of gray-green, are stiff to the touch and appear almost prehistoric. This compact, easy-to-grow houseplant has a durable nature and tolerance to the home environment where it makes a decorative statement. ‘Maharani’ is an unusual aroid often called a Jewel Alocasia because of its compact size and unusual leaf markings.
Pet Toxicity: Toxic to pets
Light: These beautiful plants require bright, indirect light.
Watering: Try to keep the soil evenly moist. Over-watering, wet leaves, and soggy soil make an alocasia plant susceptible to a variety of serious fungal infections. Check the soil frequently until you are sure of the plant's watering needs. Alocasia plants require less water during the winter when it's dormant.
Alocasia plants are toxic to pets. Typically, ingestion will result in swelling of the lips and tongue, and stomach irritation with possible vomiting.
